A lifetime of learning.
A craft worth caring about.
Meet Tylor James, Certified Journeyman Farrier and owner of Tylor James Farrier Service.

Built on experience.
Driven by care.
Tylor grew up in Augusta, Georgia, and began apprenticing with a local horseshoer at age 16. That five-year apprenticeship gave him a foundation in the craft—and a lasting respect for the care behind it.
After moving to Canton, he worked alongside multiple local farriers. In 2014, he established Tylor James Farrier Service, bringing those lessons to a practice of his own.
“My passion is to provide your horse with the feet they were meant to have.”
That focus remains at the center of his work: listening to horse owners, paying attention to the individual horse, and continuing to learn.

Learning doesn’t stop
at certification.
North Georgia’s diverse equine community has given Tylor experience with a wide range of breeds and needs.
He earned the American Farrier’s Association Certified Farrier (CF) credential before completing his Certified Journeyman Farrier (CJF) certification in January 2025.
Continuing education, careful observation, and relationships with veterinarians and other equine care providers remain part of his approach.
